Hi there! I'm ilyssa, mother of 2, Fixer Upper obsessed, home decor addict and aspiring domestic goddess (strong emphasis on aspiring :). My story with this blog starts with our first home purchase. Decorating our first home became a creative outlet for me. I scoured all the design magazines, subscribed to every design blog, spent hours on Pinterest but always found the whole process more frustrating than it should be. I would find something I loved but couldn't source the item, or find items but wanted it for a better price. I have a bookshelf dedicated to Restoration Hardware source books and have spent hours trying to recreate the look. I'd see some vases on Fixer Upper and wanted similar items...
So here we are, at my little corner of the internet. I built the tool I always wanted when decorating my own home. Citizen Decor is a place where you can discovery new looks and find inspiration in pieces across all my favorite retailers. This is a passion project still under construction.
