Farmhouse and rustic aside, I want my dining chairs to be comfortable, functional and ideally not too expensive especially since they are the most likely to get destroyed from wear and tear and foods stains.

Here are a few of my favorite styles from popular dining rooms styled by Joanna Gaines on Fixer Upper:

Classic slipcover: A good slipcover chair is usually a stable for classic Farmhouse living room but in the dining room, it can add a very functional addition without lacking in style. Slipcovers are probably the easiest to maintain with any food or beverage spillage which is bound to happen.

Spindle Back: Another traditional dining room chair that is a staple in the Fixer Upper repertoire.

Rustic bench: This is probably the most affordable option when it comes to dining room seating. A single bench can seat a whole gang and just be a fraction of the price of a full dining chair set. On Fixer Upper, Joanna loves a good rustic natural finish on a simple parsons style bench.

Tufted nailhead classic: A classic choice for most countryside style dining rooms but can add elegance to any farmhouse style dining room.

Simple metal industrial chair: An edgier industrial take on a classic farmhouse look, this dark gray metal chair is the most industrious and easy to clean out of all of them!
